The Graduate Diploma in Education and Digital Technologies is an online program that provides educators with an alternative form of professional development when they do not wish to do a full master's degree.

General information

The Graduate Diploma in Education and Digital Technologies is intended to be a high-quality professional development opportunity for educators.

Students obtain the graduate diploma by completing four courses in the field of Education and Digital Technologies. These four courses must be completed within a three-year period. All courses are completed online through weekly video conferencing meetings. Click on the curriculum tab for sample courses.

Admission requirements

  • Hold a four-year honours undergraduate degree, or a three-year university degree and a Bachelor of Education degree, from a Canadian university or their equivalent from a recognized institution.
  • Minimum overall academic standing of a B (GPA: 3.0 on a 4.3 scale or 73 to 76 per cent), with a minimum B average in the last two full-time years (four semesters) of undergraduate work or equivalent.

An admission interview may be required.

* UOIT Graduate Studies only accepts IELTS scores in the Academic testing format. Scores from the IELTS General Training format will not be accepted. 

Applicants must arrange for original test scores to be sent directly from the testing centre to the Office of Graduate Studies.

Funding

Applicants to professional or course-based programs are not normally considered for internal funding sources such as entrance scholarships, minimum funding packages, teaching assistantships, research assistantships or graduate research assistantships.

While external scholarships and awards for graduate students who fall under the above criteria are often limited, we encourage you to explore some of the external scholarship databases available for possible funding opportunities.

Fees

Tuition fees for graduate programs at UOIT are charged on a flat-fee or fee-per-credit basis and vary by program and student status.
