Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) scholarships

Value:

Master's level scholarships are typically $17,500.

Eligibility:

Any fourth year undergraduate student considering graduate studies and any current master's level student entering their second year of studies may apply.
 
Applicants must also meet the following requirements:

  • Be enrolled full-time in a degree program in a social science or humanities related field;
  • Have an A-minus (3.70/4.30) average or greater in EACH of the last two years of study; and
  • Be a Canadian citizen.

All application files are accepted, reviewed and processed by the Office of Graduate Studies before submission to SSHRC.


A University Selection Committee is established, consisting of core faculty members that have not prepared a letter of reference for the applicant. This committee will review and rank all application files.

 

Students will be notified in late February by the Office of Graduate Studies if their application was submitted to SSHRC. The results of the competition are released by SSHRC in June.
