The Master of Information Technology Security (MITS) program at UOIT prepares students to work in the emerging field of IT security. Through theory and applied learning, the program enables students to develop an extensive understanding of business and information technology security, while polishing communication skills and examining business and IT ethics in a team environment.
The program is designed to enable students to discover how to learn in the rapidly evolving IT security field. Our Hacker Research Lab enhances the curriculum of the MITS program and provides students with the necessary hands-on security skills and knowledge. This lab facility hosts an array of network settings and consists of a variety of network equipment and wireless devices in a secure environment. MITS graduates will understand and be able to apply the best of current practice, while they will also be able to act as managers of transformation to improve that practice as the field evolves.
Students will obtain their degree through successful completion of specified course requirements and an IT security capstone project.
Approximate time for MITS completion, based on full-time status, is 12 months.
